Our CSR policy

Aware of current challenges, UNEXPECTED prioritizes a responsible approach in its professional event organization activities. Regardless of our clients’ requests and constraints, we strive to provide them with actionable advice to support them in achieving their CSR objectives.

Ecovadis / ISO20121
in the process

It is not sufficient to merely state that we carefully select our partners, minimize travel, sort waste, reduce single-use decorative elements in favor of reusable items and recycled materials, or that we have a partnership with SAVR to combat food waste etc. To substantiate these efforts, we are in the process of obtaining the EcoVadis and ISO 20121 certifications.

Our internal actions

Let us give you some concrete actions!

Emmaüs Clothing Donation Collection

We collaborate with Emmaüs to organize collections of clothing, shoes, and household linens. The process is simple: Emmaüs provided us with a cardboard bin that we fill with items we no longer use. Once the bin is full, we schedule a collection with Emmaüs to pick up the donations. The bin is always available in our offices, allowing us to support Emmaüs’ initiatives and promote a more sustainable lifestyle within the agency.

Foam Board Collection and Donation

At UNEXPECTED, we are firmly committed to eco-responsibility in our events. To address the challenge of recycling foam boards, we have established an innovative collaboration with a nearby School of Art and Interior Design. After each event, we donate our foam boards to their students, who reuse them in their art projects. This initiative helps reduce chemical waste while supporting the creativity of emerging talents.

Compost

We have implemented an internal composting system to manage our organic waste. Food scraps and other compostable waste are collected and transformed into compost, helping to reduce our ecological footprint and support a more sustainable waste management cycle.

Solidarity Action Each Quarter

Each quarter, an internal team of two is responsible for organizing activities for the rest of the team, with a requirement to propose at least one solidarity action.

Carbon Offset

We offer our clients a comprehensive carbon footprint management service for each of their events, in collaboration with our partner Climeet. With this innovative tool, we accurately assess the emissions generated by each event and propose offset solutions through the purchase of carbon credits. Climeet helps us measure emissions in detail, prioritize reduction actions, and assist our clients in creating more sustainable and environmentally friendly events.

SAVR Partnership

We work with SAVR, an innovative solution dedicated to responsible event management, which places food collection at the heart of its anti-waste approach. Through their website, we can easily organize the collection of surplus food. A refrigerated truck collects the excess, which is then delivered to a local charity. SAVR also provides a detailed CSR report after each collection, with information on the number of meals redistributed and the benefiting charity. This collaboration helps us make our events more sustainable and socially responsible.

Ecovadis CSR Evaluation and ISO 20121 Certification

By early 2026, we aim to obtain ISO 20121 certification, a recognized standard that demonstrates our commitment to sustainable development. Additionally, we are currently ending the EcoVadis CSR evaluation, a renowned rating agency for sustainability. This strategic evaluation will enable us to strengthen our social and environmental responsibility by identifying areas for improvement and demonstrating our commitment to sustainable business practices.

Your are a model to follow

We understand your commitment to CSR is notable by adopting the 1-1-1 model.

We are planning to commit to the same model and donate 1% of the profit generate with Salesforce to a charity, such as Restos du Coeur.
